Meet the Superintendent

In January of 2019, I was asked to serve as the Superintendent of Great Falls Public Schools. It was an honor and blessing to be asked to lead and work together with our community partners, approximately 750 teachers, several hundred support staff and administrators to educate the young people of this community!

I have been working in education since 1981 when I began my career as a High School teacher and coach in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho.  I served as an administrator at the Elementary, Middle School and District level in Spokane, Washington for eighteen years. For the past twelve years, I have had the pleasure of working in Great Falls Public Schools as the Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education. My wife, Rhonda and I have committed our careers to serving in public education and we believe strongly that Great Falls is a wonderful place to live and work.

Before moving to Great Falls in 2007, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resource Management from the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point in 1981, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho in 1990. In 2001, I received a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership with a Superintendent’s endorsement from Gonzaga University. Over the past twelve years, I have served on the Board of Directors for United Way of Cascade County and on the Board of Directors for the Great Falls Rescue Mission. My wife, Rhonda and son, Nathan are active in this community as well. We are thankful for the generosity and compassion that the people of Great Falls exhibit when others are in need or when there is a worthy cause which requires support. Consistently, the people of Great Falls step up!

I believe that we all share in the responsibility to support the positive education and growth of our young people in Great Falls. For many years, we have taken pride in the wonderful education system here. Students who take advantage of the opportunities provided by our school district can go anywhere and do anything they choose. We must continue to look to the future with optimism and a renewed commitment to providing the same level of opportunity for the next generation of young people in this community.

I looking forward to working together with all of you this next year.

    Sincerely,
