Nancy McGonigal

Nancy McGonigal joined the English teaching staff at Paris Gibson Education Center in the fall of 2021. She has taught in Montana, New Mexico, Minnesota, and Missouri. She was a high school English teacher in Cascade, Montana for 12 years before joining the Great Falls Public Schools as a remote only high school English teacher in 2020.
McGonigal also taught high school English for the Montana Digital Academy from 2010 until 2019. In addition to her classroom responsibilities, she has been a student-council adviser, a cheerleading coach, the yearbook and newspaper sponsor, and a class adviser. She was the 2012 Cascade Teacher of the Year, and under her sponsorship, the high school newspaper won “Best Class C High School Newspaper."
McGonigal earned her BSEd in Secondary English Education from Eastern Montana College in Billings, and she attended Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri to obtain a middle school endorsement. In 2014, she completed her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon.
In her spare time, she likes to read, play piano, camp, hike, and walk her two Corgis, Ozzie and Tanzi. She also watches a bit of Netflix and any other movie based on British literature. She is a little bit of an “anglophile," especially after traveling to Great Britain and Ireland in 2017.
McGonigal is married to KRTV news anchor, Tim McGonigal, and they have two grown children, Molly and Evan. Molly, 26, lives in Great Falls and works for Alluvion while Evan, 22, lives and works in Bozeman, Montana. McGonigal is honored to be teaching at Paris Gibson. The school provides a wonderful opportunity for students to either catch up or get ahead, and the educational model is independent, yet inclusive. She looks forward to continuing to work with students and to helping them achieve their individual goals.
