PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

  • Students and Families,

Happy October!  You should have gotten your child’s midterm report for students in 3rd-6th grades. This is a great time to sit down with your child and discuss their progress. Celebrate areas of strength and make a plan for areas that are not as strong. We have Parent Teacher Conferences coming on October 18th or 19th and that is another important time to check on your child’s progress.  You should have signed up for a time using a link the classroom teacher sent you.  We look forward to visiting with each of you.  Another way to stay informed on your child’s progress is to check PowerSchool. You can see grades entered. If you need support in getting started, call Deidre at 268-7080 and she can walk you through how to access your child’s grades.

PTA will be doing two fundraising events this month.  Truck raffle tickets will be in Wednesday Envelopes October 6th.  The goal is for each child to sell one truck raffle ticket and return the ticket stub and money to their teacher.  Tickets cost $10.00 and $6.00 goes right back to our PTA and $4.00 goes to the GFPS Foundation which funds projects within our district. All tickets and money will be due on October 20th.  The second fundraising event will be Elliott’s Cookie Dough which will come home on Wednesday, October 13th and will be due back on October 27th. Your child will have two weeks to sell cookie dough. This is usually our biggest fundraiser of the year. We thank you in advance for helping our school raise money to fund projects at Sacajawea.

Class pictures and picture retakes are scheduled for October 28th and don’t forget Friday, October 29th is the end of quarter early out at 12:20 p.m.  Students are welcome to wear a costume on Friday, October 29th as well.

Here’s to a wonderful and exciting October!
