Using the Voicemail System
How to log on to your voicemail system: Dial 7000 (or 268-7000 from home), press 82, 84 or 89 and follow directions from there.
You will probably want to change three things:
- Personal verification (what people hear when you are on the phone BEFORE your message plays; and if you leave them a message, it plays before your message) the personal verification is not your greeting--it just identifies who you are. If no verification is created, the message will say somthing like the following: "The person at extension 123 is on the phone."
- Inside message (what people calling from inside the district will hear)
- Outside message (what people calling from outside the district hear)
Personal verification (what people hear when you are on the phone or leave a message for them)
- Log into your voicemail, then press 89
- Press 5, wait for the tone and then record your name, title and extension (the extension is needed so people know your number). Example: say the following: Katie Smith, CMR English Teacher, extension 1234
- Press # to stop recording
- You are done, or you can press 2 to review the message. If you need to, press 5 to rerecord. Don't forget to press # when done
External greeting (the greeting that people from outside the district calling in hear)
- Log into your voicemail, then press 82
- Press 1 and then Press 5; wait for the tone and then record your greeting
- Press # to stop the recording. To play the greeting you just recorded, press 2
- Example: You have reached the voicemail of Mrs. Katie Smith, English teacher at CMR high school. I am not available right now, but if you leave a message, I will get back to you when school is out. If you need immediate assistance, please press zero now. Thanks and have a great day.
Internal greeting (what people calling from an internal extension hear)
- Log into your voicemail, then press 82
- Press 2 and then Press 5, wait for the tone and then record your greeting
- Press # to stop the recording. To play the greeting you just recorded, press 2
Changing your password
- Log onto your voicemail, then press 84
- Enter a new password and then press #
- Your password must be between 4 and 16 numbers but not the # or * key
- Enter the new password again; then press #
- Enter your old password; then press #
Forwarding calls to your voicemail
- Press Forward
- Dial 7000
- Press Forward
Forwarding messages
- Log into your mail account
- Listen to the message
- After the message, press 73
- Enter an extension number. If more than one, separate them with the # key press the # key twice when done
- To record a message to the recipient of the forwarded message, press 5. When done recording, press #
- Otherwise, just press 79 and the message will be sent

- Press 1 - to enter or update
- Press 5- to record
- Press # to end recording
- 268-7299 to listen to homework assignments
To retrieve messages
- Log into mailbox (dial 7000 and enter mailbox number and password)
- Press 2- to play a message
- Press 1 - to skip back
- Press # - to pause
- Press 4 - previous
- Press 23 - speeds up message
- Press 21 - slows down message
- Press 6 - next message
- Press 76 - delete message
