Great Falls High Master Planning Committee

Purpose:

Great Falls High School, Master Planning Project 2011 - 2012
Great Falls High School (GFHS) has been a beloved, landmark building in the community since the 1930s. On August 8, 2011, the Great Falls Public Schools Board of Trustees approved a year-long master plan study of GFHS. The plan will focus on mechanical, structural, occupancy and traffic issues. Also, safety and energy issues will be addressed while simultaneously paying attention to the architectural integrity.

The School District has contracted with the Great Falls architectural firm of L’Heureux Page Werner to conduct the study. Also, they appointed a task force comprised equally of stakeholders from the community and school district.

Charge to Task Force Members
Assist the Board of Trustees of the Great Falls Public Schools in its fiduciary responsibility to the community of Great Falls as keepers of the district’s facilities and grounds by developing and recommending to the Board a master plan for bringing Great Falls High School into a 21st Century learning environment. The plan must attend to mechanical, structural, occupancy and traffic issues while addressing safety and energy and the implications of continuous return on investment for the community while simultaneously attending to the architectural integrity of this icon of the community. You will help collect input from others in the community and deliberate on all information. The plan will consider the best, highest use of facility and grounds in support of public education, current and future, and to the greater good of the community’s youth.
