I am part of the Radical team here at East Middle School, as well as special services and literacy. Connections meets four days a week. Mon - Jumpstart Day Tues. - Club Day (check grades and homework) Wed. - No Homebase, early out for students Thurs. - Club Day (check grades and homework) Fri. - Connections Lessons 2nd period strategies is a time for students to build reading skills, study skills, and have support from the teacher and peers. Please check your assignment sheets, the Web Pages or Moodle, or Homework Hotline know what is due and when. If you or your child is in the 3rd and 4th period, or 8th and 9th period reading block, our year will be filled will elements from the LANGUAGE! intervention program for language arts, as well as fluency building, Step Up to Writing, journaling, novels, and learning and practicing some of the best strategies for increasing comprehension. Students will be in one of our computer labs at least twice a week. They will be using Moodle, performing informal and formal research on the Internet, responding to quotations, and commenting on peers' responses. They will be able to upload assignments, which can be done at home if Internet access is available. If not, most assignments will be able to be completed without the computer, or students can stay after and work with me, at the computer.     I also serve as case manager to some 8th grade students.
