Title VII Indian Education Program provides federal financial support to meet the unique needs of Native American children in our district.
The local program is designed to assist Native American students in areas such as: School to Home Facilitator assistance, in-services for the teachers and the development of the Native American Resource Library.
A few of the program objectives for the Indian Education program are:
- To identify Native American students in the Great Falls School District
- To provide assistance for academic success.
Native American Resource Library
The Native American Resource Library, which is located in the Longfellow Elementary School building, provides books, media, and current materials about
Native Americans.
The collection of materials in the Native American Resource Library includes: books, periodicals, audio-visual materials (videos, filmstrips, tapes, slides, and records), posters, maps, pictures, teaching aids, bibliographies, reservation newspapers, artifacts, and models.
The Native American Resource Library was established under the Title VII Indian Education Program to serve the needs of the Great Falls Public School’s
personnel and students. Its collections are open to public, teachers, and students.
