Mission:
Providing students with real-life experiences that utilize the lab-setting, outdoors, and our community as the science classroom to extend our district science curriculum.
Objectives:
Use the outdoors as the classroom to teach broad ecology through first-hand experiences.
Plan curriculum outlines and preparing
units of study correlated to outdoor study and state standards.
Facilitate in-service training for teachers and collaborate to develop new lessons and units.
Furnish materials in the form of science kits for each
grade level and central science supplies in each building, and
supplement when needed by indidvidual teachers.
Supply habitats and supplies to maintain live animals in the classroom setting as part of the Check-a Pet Program.
Maintain a fully equipped laboratory at Lowell Elementary in order to facilitate investigations that extend the current curriculum.
