Develop personal resources

            Students will:

            • develop an awareness of self discipline, concentration and focus in the theatrical process

            • demonstrate intra/interpersonal skills through play study and classroom performance

            • explore sensory and emotional perception in the characterization process

 

Know and manage theatre resources and technology

            Students will:

            • identify problem solving skills necessary to the craft of developing theatre

            • interact with a variety of media and technology sources

            • understand the concept of ensemble performance

 

Create theatre through individual expression and artistic collaboration

            Students will:

            • rehearse and perform in scripted and unscripted material

            • explore movement for the stage

            • reflect on preparation and performance

 

Analyze and form aesthetic judgements

            Students will:

            • explore theatrical literature through scenes, one-acts, and full  length plays

            • employ critical thinking skills

            • reflect upon the aesthetic qualities of performance/literature

 

Relate theatre to its social and historical context

            Students will:

            • place selected works of theatre in a social, historical and cultural context
