Develop personal resources

            Students will:

            • establish a believable character through clearly visible actions

            • remain focused and in character throughout a performance

            • cooperate with a group in the development of a performance

 

Know and manage theatre resources and technology

            Students will:

            • organize visual and verbal materials

            • develop skills and procedures to explore complex problems

            • utilize goal setting, self-discipline and time management while preparing a performance

 

Create theatre through individual expression and artistic collaboration

            Students will:

            present scenes with appropriate and dramatically interesting ideas

            • explore ensemble

            • demonstrate creative thinking skills

           

Analyze and form aesthetic judgements

            Students will:

            • describe artistic choices and construct meaning by evaluating their own and collaborative efforts

            • analyze and critique dramatic performances taking into account context

            • demonstrate an understanding of how personal experience influences the interpretation of theatre

 

Relate theatre to its social and historical context

            Students will:

            • describe how similar themes are treated in theatre from various cultures and historical periods

            • compare a variety of styles, genre, media, and dramatic literature
